Syndicated Loans: Domestic & International

A syndicated loan is a large-scale loan structured and placed by a financial institution experienced in this type of transaction ("lead manager" or "designated agent"), that organizes a syndicate of financial entities to participate in the financing under negotiated terms and conditions. A syndicated loan, as a financing alternative, tends to enhance the banking relationships of the issuer.

Citibank®, N.A. lead managed a US$100MM syndicated loan for the Government of Jamaica in 1997 which was placed in the international bond market.
