The Treasury Unit is comprised of the following:

  • Foreign Exchange (Spot / Forwards)

    Citibank is a leader in sales of Euros, Pounds, Canadian Dollars, Japanese Yen, EC Dollars, as well as exotic currencies including Singapore Dollars, Bahamian Dollars, Indian Rupees, etc.

    As an authorized dealer in foreign exchange, the Bank competes with other authorized dealers and cambios for the purchase of hard currency from exporters and other holders of foreign currency in order to sell to clients in satisfaction of their import and remittance requirements.

    Money Markets – TTD & USD

    Money Market includes Placement, Borrowing, CDs, Treasury Bills and Open Market Operations (OMOs)

    The Money Market activities include managing local currency, funding and investing. In pursuance of this, the Bank invests in short and medium term Government and Central Bank debt securities. It is also responsible for managing Foreign Currency Funding.

    Citibank Trinidad & Tobago, operates two separate portfolios, one in local currency and the other in US dollar deposits.

    Security Trading

    Security Trading activity is concentrated primarily in local currency and United States Dollar denominated Government of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago (GORTT) Securities.

    Derivatives

    Citibank offers a full range of derivative products, which include interest rate swaps and options, currency swaps and options, and energy (oil & gas) derivatives. Also offered, are structured notes with embedded options for investors.
